As Noel knows well, I have perhaps fifteen sets of Diamondbacks on a variety of vehicles (Mopar, GM and Ford, Studebaker) as well as an equal number of sets of tires - Radial and non-radial from literally everyone else.
I can’t say enough good things about DBack tires. I have never had a problem with them - including when mounted on wirewheels (my 62 Sports-roadster case in point).
I’ve not had belt shifting, tread separation, broken belts, unusual sidewall bumps/indentations, poor tracking - I’ve had no problems: Zero. BUT I have had all of that with tires from the other folks - at times.
The only sidewall seperation occurred when I bumped into something rolling my C2 Sting Ray into place- totally MY fault. Not the tire.
There are very few things in life that I can recommend more highly than a set of Diamondbacks.

When I ran Diamondbacks on my F from 2009 thru 2018, the base tire was actually a Eurospec light truck 6-ply Vredstein, with the whitewall vulcanized onto it. I ran those tires 55,000 miles with no performance issues. Since 2018, I've been running 235/75R14 American Classics, which are at the end of their lives and I'm going to swap out now. I've been running them on a prayer with my runs to Lafayette, Carlisle and Buffalo this summer. The same 235/75R14 size Cokers (note that American Classics are out of production) are $435 per tire and I've heard no reviews of them. I also spoke with the Coker rep at the recent Chryslers at Carlisle and he of course represented that they're great performers, but I've seen no reviews of them, while several of our 300 Club members have expressed great satisfaction with these 225/75R14 Diamondbacks. The other tire you're referencing is Kontio - engineered in Finland and built in China. I had first looked into these Kontios several years ago, and found they were only built in smaller sizes that weren't suitable to our 300s. Not sure, but I think they're also available in up to 225/75R14 sizes.
A few other comments on these new Diamondbacks from my phone conversation yesterday -
- Their whitewalls are available in any width up to about 3 1/4", custom ordered by you at no extra cost. Gil's tire size chart in our Tech Dept specifies 2 1/2" to 2 11/16" wide whitewall for our Fs. Here's the link to Gil's chart - Chrysler 300 Letter Car Tires. The new Cokers are available only in 2 1/2" wide whitewalls.
- Their whitewalls are 'to the rim,' meaning there is no blackwall gap from the rim to the start of the whitewall, but the whitewall abuts the rim.
- When I asked, Michael commented that these 'Auburn Premium' tires are custom manufactured by Diamondback, and the whitewalls are not vulcanized onto another brand's (i.e. Michelin, Vredstein, Hankook, etc.) tire. He went on to say Diamondback designed and engineered these tires to very closely replicate the Michelin tires, without infringing on any Michelin patents. The tread pattern is a modern 1950s/1960s pattern on which our cars were engineered to run. He said these are by far their bestselling brand.

I KNOW coker brand were bad , many blowouts in club, but they had a second more expensive line I bought several times American Classic Coker. They seemed ok although one had balance issues. But not a performance tire by any means.
I love michelin , try to make best It can be by going 17" rims , Cragar , great michelin vee tread. (Cross Climate? I think ) some trades made ; looking pretty for a show, or what 300's are about , driving. Also allows larger disc if so inclined' . Blackwall black rim not that bad.Michelin often need no weights, super strong tire really sticks 8" + rims etc. . Last 70 K miles worth every cent.
Saw the 190 MPH F at Buffalo that is a good look too (NICE job, Joe) .
Kind of important all this. to be safe is # 1?
Maybe 15 or 16 is an intermediate plan? 15 " white wall at Diamnd back, off a michelin? Advoctaing to build 14 may be a misstep ---for them and us?

Has anyone tried the new Coker Star Series tires?
I'm putting 15 inch tires on all my cars except my 300F. It has Cokers on it now.
I prefer the Diamondbacks over Cokers. I've had the Diamondbacks on my 49 Jeepster and 65 and 69 Corvairs. Great service and great tires. I've heard some not-so-desireable issues with the other brand.

I spoke with Michael at Diamondback Tires today, ready to order a new set for my F - 225/75R14 is the largest 14" size available - 1 notch smaller than the 235/75R14 size equivalent to the non-radials mounted at the factory. Several of our Club members have offered their testimonials on their satisfaction running these tires.
Diamondback's retail price is $299 per tire for this size, plus sales tax and shipping.
Diamondback is running a Labor Day sale this Wednesday, 8/27, through Monday, 9/1, discounting the pricing to $249 per tire, with Tax and Shipping included!
