{Chrysler 300} Transmission Fluid Compatability



To all the great folks in Letter Car Land.

Had the torque flight  rebuilt unfortunately not by Mr V.

 The first shop filled with Castrol Dexron V1 back in march 2025.

The new shop sorting out what the first shop billed for but somehow wasn't able or competent enough to do correctly said the pan gasket was leaking and needed to be replaced.

When they dropped the pan found 1/16" of metallic particles in mixture of oily sludge (not good).

Since they didn't drain the torque converter they filled with ATF +4 which i provided


1st ?  Does anyone know if the 2 fluids are compatible or should they be replaced and which one is best.

2 nd ? The C was driven no more than 300 miles with the Dexron V1 and wondering if that caused the metallic oily sludge or was it because the rebuilder didn't clean the transmission sufficiently prior to rebuilding?

Any thoughts on this subject will be appreciated.

PS Now told there's a leak coming between bell housing and transmission.

Easy fix or pull the transmission
