Is there a problem with red paint over time? I had my first car painted a blood red colour that was standard for another brand of car. After 10 years or so I bought some rattle cans to fix a long scratch/dent before selling the car. Colour didn’t match and, at first, I was annoyed the cans were the “wrong” shade. But after cutting back the original paint, I realised it had actually changed and was fading to an orange shade (by comparison) all the way through. The rattle cans were actually right when compared to some hidden painted areas. Anyway, I sold it to a guy who was going to repaint the whole car so he didn’t care. Sorry I can’t help with this one… but I’m wary of red since then. I had my Uncles all original (except the trunk lid) car at a good body guy to redo another trunk lid because his was redone twice and keeps rusting through from the inside out, all over it, and worse each time. The first attempt the color match was great in the light but if the car was outside in the daytime, and in the shade the match was very off. The guys are trying again to get it right, and I feel they are good at what they do and as particular as I am, but they are having a really hard time getting an exact match. I figured it was worth sending out a message to see if anyone had any advice. --
