If you are referring to the broad areas, they are indeed painted. After
the pieces are chromed, and the edges masked off.
Mr. G's did mine, but the silver paint he used was noticeably darker
than before. I called him to find out what color he used, so I could
obtain some to match the pieces I didn't send to him. He told me he
uses whatever his supplier sends him, and often the silver paints are
different, and he has no idea how to find out! I expected better for
the price I paid. I found the perfect match to his work--Eastwood's GAS
TANK ZINC paint! Live and learn.
Anyway, I would go to the hardware store and find a silver/aluminum
color you like, and just use that.
