Help clearing the cob-webs

Okay heres the story,,,,,,,,,,,,I bought a rat rod it is suspose to have a
65 New Yorker engine in it, the guy I bought it from apparently is not
mechanicaly inclined, as when I emailed him asking what it had for a shifter in it,
replied that, that was part of the reason he was selling it, as he could not
find anyplace on the transmission to hook a shifter to. that being said, I
am thinking that it still has possibly the original 65 tranny still on the
engine, my question is ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, is the rooster comb from a 65 904
floor shift baracuda the same comb that would be in the 65 727, or would I have
to exchange them to use the floor shifter out of the baracuda to control the
beast, by the way this is in a 27 turtle deck roadster.
