My '65 scoop is properly located within 1" of the rear edge of the hood.

Fellas: Slightly off topic but could use your advice:
My brother is putting a scoop on the hood of his 66 Dodge Coronet.
I don't know the dimensions but it looks like the typical fiberglass hood scoop
that we typically see on these model cars...not the lower, more intricate design you see on
Max Wedge Mopars, 63-65.
Anyway, the question is, where do we mount it for the right look?
Can somebody give me the measurement from the rear edge (along cowl) of the hood to the back edge of the hood scoop?
Some say about 7 inches. Thanks for any input.
