I'm missing something here.  Let's say I have a 426 and want 5000 RPM:

1. 426 x 5000 = 2,130,000
2. / .5 = 4,260,000
3. / 144 = 29,583.33
4. x 1.2 = 35,500
5. / 2 = 17,750
