63 Polara Hesitation?

My 63 Polara 500 has an all original 383.  It runs and idles smooth,
but when when I give it some gas, it hesitates like it's going to
stall.  I can gently coax it to get going.  I just got the car in
December so I'm not real familiar with it yet.  Any thoughts on how to
get it to respond?  Thanks.
