Gary,
I will leave a note for him as he is in my shop during the day when I am
at school, I should run into him soon though because I have a couple of
sets of heads to port during the semester break.

Joey,
A good reminder for me to contact Wayne to see how he is doing on his
Poly project.
I am playing around with Poly roller cam profiles right now...
Or have him e-mail me.
Thanks,
Gary

Gear ratios and final drive RPM is obviously a personal taste kind of
tolerance. My 12 second, mild 340 powered Dart GT, turns approx.
3600rpm when I cruise around 55mph; short 25" BFG's, 3.91 gears, low
gear set in trans, & 3500stall 10" convertor. I don't mind the RPM as
it is in my makeup since this was the norm back "in the day."
I am not opposed to reducing the RPM's at cruising speed but I will not
pay the "overdrive" price since it is not cost-effective or necessary
for the weekend warrior duty this car receives.
My Stroker Poly vehicle will be running 235/60-15 Drag Radials, 3.73
gears, low gear set in trans, and a 3800stall 9.5" convertor.
I will be turning approx. 3200rpm @ 66mph. If I were to go on extended
freeway cruise, I intend to use a 255/70-15 (28.9" tall) tire for
approx. 2800rpm @ 65mph.

either 3:91 or 4:11 would work depending on how far you drive to the
track and what your threshold for economic pain is for gas bills. I
had 4:10's in my small block 4-speed Duster a couple of years ago and
a 60 mile round trip cost about $60 but...that car did fly, I sure
miss it. You might try contacting Dan Dvorak in Florida, I thought I
had seen recently where someone was advertising 3:73's for the 8 3/4
rear. Good Luck!, either way, it will be fun .

I have purchased a 489 Casing, 8 3/4, that I am going to have updated
with a Tru Lock.
I have contacted the usual places, Moser, DTS and Hensel's Garage in
Ohio. Has anyone ever had any work done by Hensel's Garage? He states
he caters toward Mopars.
I originally going to go with a 3:55/1 for cruising and racing. Then
I got to thinking that for all that money maybe I ought to have it
set up for racing, I would drive to the track, like a 3:90 or 4:11.
Then when going to long trips switch back to the original 3;23.
Any thoughts on my plans? I currently have a warmed over 68 440 TNT
engine with an automatic.
