Subject: 64 383 colour question
Hi folks,
I have a feeling that is going to cause the same type of discussion
that Neal had with the inspection plates but, here goes.
I want to paint the 383 for my wife's 64 Polara 500 convertible the
correct colour and I was told that they were tourquiose if 2 barrel
and red if 4 barrel. The example that was used for the red comment
was a Canadian 65 Monaco with a 383 4 barrel and it is red.
Since the car is Canadian, it may be painted different from the US
cars.
At Mopar's in the Park last weekend, the only 383 4 barrel I saw in
red was the Canadian car.
I like the Poly red (International Harvestor Red) and will accept the
tourquiose if necessary.
Since it will not be a concours restoration, it may not matter but I
like to be "more or less" correct.
Please advise.
Regards,
K.
