You remind of myself. I took pictures of
everything too. And a shakedown cruise(s) is/are absolutely
necessary.
Some headers have to be dented for clearance or
just to get them where they belong. In the world of headers this isn't too
big a deal unless it is an all-out race car.
Looks like you are making good progress. It
seems to take forever and something always pops up to clean out your wallet even
more. But when you get it done. Its done. Except for tires, gas and
insurance. I just hope gas doesn't triple or even worse before some
members get their cars done.

Subject: Now I've done it :-)
Well today I managed to finish taking the engine out of LeRoar and all by
myself. That is a feeling of accomplishment. I just took my time and kept
plunking along.
Now I can check the engine over. Detail things and wait for the new
heads. I think I'll do up another set of valve covers. I want some yellow on
them this time. I can clean up the engine bay too and be sure all my leaks are
cured. Also I will modify the motor mounts per TTI's directions. I abused the
pass side header badly by not doing this before. I'll include a photo of the
dinged header.
When I put it back together I'll have Paul Lenneman come over and install
the headers for me as I know it's his favorite job :-)
