Dan: several of us have done some really neat things with the poly motors. Yes it's not a main stream package but you will be very happy with the poly once you have the car running. They are amazing! Mine pulled like a big block even with a decent sized
cam in it and no headers. If there is any way you can make headers I would recommend it that is a real hold up area in my opinion
Then get a big cam and loose converter if running a auto tran. People will be stunned at what that set up will do

Subject: Re: Enquiry Dan Mathers
Dan,
Just a quick overview on the Poly...Rods down are the same parts as an LA 318/340 (rods, crank, bearings, oil pump). Front of the engine is the same as well (timing chain, timing cover, harmonic balancer, water pump). One note is that the water pump must be
67? and earlier as the water outlet is on the drivers side...unless you have a later radiator. Distributor and drive shaft are also the same.
Pistons, cam, heads, and valve gear are the different parts. Do plenty of research before you buy your parts, and make sure your machinist/builder has a great rep with lots of experience. He may not be the cheapest, but you get what you pay for.
