I remember talking to the guy that did the Poly heads for the motor that went in my wagon, he said harden seats wasn't really
necessary . I put over 100,000 unleaded ml. on my 62 poly motor which already had over 200,000 on it when I got it back in
88. and judging from the way things looked under the hood those were some hard miles. besides don't your valve seats get
flame hardened every time the cylinder fires?:-)

hardened valve seats? Also, I have heard about the seat problems because of
unleaded gas. However, I have never yet talked to anyone who has actually
had a problem with it. Is this just a rumor, or has anyone on the list
actually ever had problems with a Mopar using unleaded? <

OK, Thanks for all the replies. Out of the 10 responses recieved for the
question about problems with running stock heads without hardened seats, I
got no one who has ACTUALLY had, or known of anyone, that ever had a
problem! Could the hardened seat theory just be a "modern myth"? I'm
starting to wonder.....
Anyone else care to add anything?
