It was not body colored.
More like a dark gray primer with a clear sealer coat.
The wheel wells had body overspray.

What did the underside of our vehicles look like when they were new?
Some say it was painted body color (which all the undersides of
magazine cars seem to be) and some say undercoated. What was on the
underside of these cars? The next question, were the wheel wells the
same or were they different? As my project gets farther along, this
question has arisen. Any help is always appreciated.
