4006630-440 was a casting number for 440s built 1975-1978, the "-1" at
the end was a casting facility indicator for sand core replacements.

as for "6T440 TE", the "6T" means "1976, Trenton plant". the "E" means
"cast crank" and the "T" (in "TE"), well , I dunno. In earlier years,
that might have been where the body type was indicated, as in "B" for
B-body, perhaps "T" means truck in that case,, I dunno...

make sure the "6T" is a 6 and make sure the casting date is 78..
perhaps the 8 is a 6 in one place or another or visa versa...

"3 15" means it was assembled March 15... wow!!! "Beware of
the ides of March!!!"
