The nipple should have a hex at its base, seems like 13/16" but I may be
misremembering on that. Remove the nipple and the plate comes off, then the
adaptor fits in place of the plate. The adaptor (at least the early
originals did) has a little raised marker on it which lines up on the block
to give the factory angle, but the adaptor will spin through a pretty good
range of adjustment, so he can leave the through-bolt a little loose in the
adaptor until getting the headers in place and then adjust the adaptor to
the best angle if necessary. Also, with many headers you can keep the
simple nipple and plate and use a shorter 42 oil filter instead of 8.

I have a friend who's installing a Mopar 360 into a later A-body. He's
using headers and must use the right-angle oil filter adapter. The block
currently does not have the adapter, only the nipple for the spin-on filter.
Anyone know the correct way to remove this nipple from the block so he can
install the right-angle adapter kit?
Sorry for the off-topic post.
Thanks,
