There were no 4 speed transmissions original equipment in ‘62 Plymouths. Available were a light duty 3 speed with column shift and the heavier duty T-85 3 speed with floor shift in maximum performance package cars. In ‘63 models the Borg Warner T-10 4 speed was made available It had a unique front bolt pattern and could be gotten stock. The next year the A833 4 speed became available using the same bolt pattern as had been used on the T-10 for Mopars. 

 Had a ‘62 Belvedere 2 door sedan for many years which I eventually equipped with a 413 out of a ‘64 Chrysler and a complete 4 speed changeover taking all the parts including the T-10 out of a junkyard ‘63 Dodge. Perhaps this has been done with the car in your question. And when I bought my ‘62 Sport Fury max wedge car from Roland Osborne back in ‘96 it came with an A-833 and the appropriate bellhousing in place of the original T-85 3 speed.

I sure miss him he was a genuine person. 

I believe that our estrangement was due his treatment as a youth.
