Re: Gas tank question

Doug,

I replaced on both my '63 Fury and my '63 Sport Fury the large filler neck grommet, provided by Kramer. Neither of my '63 tanks had an O-ring. The fit was perfect.

I'm changing the gas tank on my 63 Sport Fury.  I have a good tank from a 65 Satellite I intended to use.  The only difference between the two tanks is the size and shape of the filler tube hole.  The 63 is smaller diameter and uses only an O-ring .  The 65 appears to use the larger grommet.  Just going by information on the various seller sites, the grommet looks to have a 2 inch inside diameter to accept the filler tube.  If that is the case, I could use the tank with the larger grommet and my filler tube I assume.
Does anyone have any experience with this ?

BTW, some sellers list the tanks for 62-3, and a different number for 64-5.
Kramer and another seller show one tank for all with the large grommet.
Everything except the filler hole seems the same otherwise

Thanks,
Doug
