What is youse folks experience with coil location and orientation?
For my electronic ignition conversion I chose the accel super stock coil as it fell in between the correct primary resistance recommendations of 1.4 to 1.8 ohms primary resistance.
It is an oil filled unit and I have heard various things about proper orientation on oil filled. Some say vertical only, others say horizontal ok, others say horizontal ok but has to be a certain direction.
The other question is, how long is too long for a coil wire.? I would like to mount it over to the side of the engine compartment to help keep it cooler, but that means a 20 inch long coil wire. Is that too much??
