There are some videos online that give a sense of the process. What I saw indexed did not specifically show 62-65s,  but, for example, a later B-body and an A-body:

1969 GTX Heater Removal.  "Not a detailed document on removal but I do point out some of the key elements to removing the heater box and the heater core. This is not an AC car.  Heater only."

Besides replacing the core you can consider replacing the windshield wiper seals while stuff is taken out. And refreshing / rebuilding the heater box. -- The fun never ends. :)
