Aluminum can literally be polished with a wheel, compound, and a crap load of time just like a paint job can. It smoothes the surface into a chrome like finish. (learned this in my new metals class last week in high school and plan to make good use of it and our new plasma CNC, also the large pipe bender, MIG welder, car lift and some 2.5" exhaust piping.)

How do you polish the manifold?
Would you not paint it?  How do you keep it from rusting/corroding?

Have it blast beaded...makes it look like a new stock manifold.  If your
aluminum covers are polished, polish the manifold.
