also check the pivot point on the "point assembly" to make sure it doesn't bind at all. i had a set of points bind up just a little bit, and it created an intermittent problem for about 2 weeks. started right up, put it in d, go 2 feet and stall over & over. and everything looked ok, too!

Condenser and also point condition and spacing . (gap.)
If the coil is good and I believe you indicated it is ( actual coil failure is very rare anyway) and there is power going to the positive terminal then the points are not grunding the circuit to complete it on the _ sde if the coil or else the points arent openoing to break the circuit. 
The spark occurs when the points open. The coil charges up its magnetic field whaen the points are closed. The condenser stops these two events from fighting each other to put it in simple trems. 
Quick check . Clip a test light between engine ground and the - (minus side of the coil) Crank the engine with the ignition key. The light should turn of f and on as the points open and close. If it does not then the problem is with the points. Probably corroded and not making a good circuit. (test light stays brighrt all the time) or they are not opening (testlight is never bright. ) 
If the light flickers when cranking but the spark is almost nonexisitant replace the condenser.
