I cannot tell you how strongly I suggest that you get a copy of Don Dulmage's book "Old reliable"..even tho' he's building a 440 the exact same build up is good for 413/426 ! Small adjustments in cam and carburetion are all that is necessary to do a kick butt "wedge"...may even kick "max's" butt if done right...and Don is a player here that will answer your questions in real time. He is a real asset to this board (can you tell I'm sucking up !).

I'm trying to get as much of the things that I need for this spring to
start the restoration of my 62 Polara. Would anyone know who or where a
new cowl can be purchased? The one on the car seems to be loaded with
filler and some didn't do a good job of shaping it.
 Also has anyone built a more streetable max wedge engine? I'm also
trying to find the orginial specs of the max wedge, if you know where
this can be found please let me know.    Thanks,  Alex
