Joe...did the same thing about 15 years ago.Bought a '67 New Yorker(I think) wagon and low-and-behold it had the HP 440 w/chrome covers and dual snorkel air cleaner.It went into a '67 GTX H/T I had at the time.Motor hadnt run in about 5 years...changed the oil....put some gas down the carb...hooked up a battery...she came to life...lifters clattered for about 5 minutes like it was self-destructing...then smoothed out and ran like gangbusters.Was a very potent machine!

Neal - I bought a 67 300 a few years ago just for the motor. To my
surprise, it had the 67 440 gtx heads (915's) on it. I guess they had a few left
over after the GTX run. Pull a valve cover and take a look. Might be another
set out there on a 300. Joe
