All,

Have pulled the 727 tranny from the '62 Dart and have found a ton of metal shavings in the bottom of the trans pan.

Having never done any transmission work, I'm looking for guidance before I lug the thing to a local transmission shop to hear what they have to say.

I'm thinking that if there are metal shavings there are probably some 'hard' parts needing to be replaced - not just a simple rebuild.

Would I be better off just buying a new transmission?

Thanks in advance,
Brian
