When I change over to from points to electronic ignition and want it to look
original, I separate the two wires from the distributor pickup and bring one
out of the distributor in the original location and bring the other out on
the bottom of the distributor (by drilling a hole in the distributor) where
it can't be seen and join them back at a unseen location and mount the
control box under the dash where it is hidden and very few people have
noticed it was changed over.

Well there never was a more reliable alternator than the old mopar ones,
only problem they ever have is the brushes wear after many many miles and
they can be changed on them from outside, I have even done a few in the car
without removing the alternator, I could count on 1/2 of 1 hand the number
of mopar alternators I have seen with anything else wrong. Single wire
fields (my favourite) or the double wire fields (Whch are internaly the same
anyway, just one has a grounded brush and one sends the ground back to the
regulator .) I have been a mech since 1966 so i have seen a few.
As for the hidden box , you wont find my Mopar control box anywhere and it
uses the stock ballast resistor (1963 Dodge) looking totally stock.
However I also realieze it is your car and if you want to sprinkle it with
rice and bowties that is your bussiness.
