from what i have heard the 67 318 even in cars was forged, that year
only, then the 273 and 318 both lost their steel cranks in 68, i believe
the trucks are a different story.

   Guys!!!!!!!!!! Quit trying to get me to change my mind, dont u know i
   am crazy enough as it is!
   BTW I did price out kits, the 340 416 stroker kit  with cast crank,
   steel aftermarket rods and forged wisecos for $1995 from a place
   caled RPM Machine in Utah. Do u know of em  Earl?
    On the other hand building a stroker wouldnt really go with my idea
    of a nice simple reliable street car. After going to all that bother
    a tunnel ram and duals would be required, maybe some nitrous and a
    big ol hi-stall, oh yeah and then that Dana 60 sitting  in the
    woodshed over at Moms place,...............
