The best way to put it is, the bore is .030 larger than the stock bore, the piston is .030 larger than the stock piston: netting the same piston/cylinder clearance as stock. When I used to bore Japaneese motorcycle cylinders, I used the ring end gap to tell me wnen to stop honing as the piston/cylinder clearance was so small.
Something to think about...how in the world do they make piston rings??? I mean, when they are compressed and in the bore, they are supposed to be perfectly round right??? So what kind of set-up do the manufacturers use to make the raw rings??? they must be eliptical shaped slightly? Don,Earl??
Neal, if you really want to think about something in the voodoo realm, consider a diesel engine that has no spark or vacuum, yet produces HUGE torque.
