#3 The distributore are basically the same, except for the early advance cure in the Mopar Performance item.
You can change the advance springs in the stocker, using the Mopar Performance spring kit.
That kit used to be about $2, but they have since caught on, and raised the price substantially.

any help here will be appreciated as i set out on a battle plan to upgrade the 273 to an electronic ignition of some form. many questions follow, answer one or all questions and thank u. 1) Anybody know anything about this Davis Unified Ignition setup( DUI)?. says it eliminates coil and module. 2)anybody know where i can find a really good ( better) article on the GM HEI conversion? I found one article on some guys duster site but i thought it left out a lot of info i am wondering about, didnt say anything about coils and alternators required with it. #3) If i went with the Mopar setup : in the Mopar elec. conversion kits are those distributors any different than a stock distributor I would get over the counter at the parts house, like are they curved differently or something? Or are they just the same. #4) Does a big block alternator fit on a small block? I know for the conversion u need the later two blade alternator. thanks. neal Zimmerman, Eugene oregon
