the first  two 426's were stage two in 1963,,small  primaries in carbs
...stage three primaries were all the same size  they also changed cam
...not sure but i think that happened in 64... back in 63 when i upgraded
mine i had to bore out manifold to fit bigger  carbs...  joe ss/a
