I'd try to get the pieces off without drilling them. Gently pry them out or squeeze the back side together to get them off. I did the same thing on my 64 Sport Fury. When putting them back on I got some of the 4 minute J-B weld and put a dab on the back side and held it until it set up. Just make sure you mark which piece went where. Worked for me.
