well guys i found another vacuum leak.  the edelbrock performer manifold  is
drilled through to the plenum where one of the coil mount bolts is.  that
fixed my idle problems and rpm loss when going into gear.  still wont turn a
tire out of the hole though, pretty discouraging for a freshly rebuilt .030
over 383hp with resto cam, headers, and avs carb.  thx for the suggestions,
there were greatly appreciated.  good to have someplace to go for answers
and suggestions.  take care

Well, I'm just guessing, but isn't the 318 torque converter too tight
for this setup?  It must have a very low rpm stall speed, no?
