Just my opinion, but I would pull the yoke, pull the seal, pull the
front bearing cone....insert a bearing shim(maybe about .020"), then
reassemble
the stack. This should reload the crush sleeve and be sure to retorque
pinion
nut to spec.If someone on the list has another way to do this I'm all
ears...then I can remember this for my rearend work. Be sure to polish the
seal
surface on the yoke with 400 or 600 grit paper to get rid of some of the
wear
groove and establish a nice surface for the lip to ride on, it also goes
without
saying to lube the seal. Good luck, Dan
