Gary-

Is this required to change a 741 to a 489?

Reed Koeppe (vintage-value) on ebay had one for sale for a while.
He's a great guy and a real Mopar man. I could talk to him for hours.

For 8 3/4 third member

Does anybody have a fine spline yoke available; either large or small? Thank you, Gary Pavlovich

maybe its my backyard mechanic education, but i and
several people i know, have changed the pinion seal
and the yokes from small to big, by simply
reinstalling with an air wrench (that means tight).
none of us have had problems from this.

sometimes you just have to do it, cars really don't
have to be as complicated as some people make them.

Jake,
Check with a 4 x 4 shop, they do alot of gear
changes. If you are
overwhelmed with this perhaps they could do the seal
 change...they might have a
different way to deal with the crush sleeve. Dan
