Actually, you ARE preaching, but you are preaching to the chior! I fully intend to upgrade to front discs, but I just shelled out for new rubber all the way around on the stock 14" steelies so I would have a couple years to find a wheel/tire combo that I can live with. (Magnums sure are pretty, but I just cannot justify the costs). So eventually, she WILL get front disc brakes. Probably with 15" steelies and dog dishes as well. (Love that look)

I mean no criticism here about your using the drum brakes up since they are
there & working, BUT, you've got a heavy wagon that may weigh 2.5 TONS. If
the worst happens, you'd probably feel relieved you installed some thing along
the lines of C-body disc brake assemblies up front.

Because of the physics of weight transfer under braking, the front brakes do
the great majority of the stopping work. You can leave the rear drums on, I
did. If you do this change, get an adjustable front-to-rear proportioning
valve and get it calibrated in an empty parking lot.

If you knew all this, hope you didn't think this was "preaching", but I am
old enough that I rode & sometimes drove the old muscle cars of the '60's and
'70's when they were new & they had way more "go" than "stop".
