Re: upholstery ideas please

there is foil duct tape made that works not too bad/ it is shiny like chrome not the dull grey stuff /its approx 2 inches wide / just tape over the item you want to recover and trim excess with a sharp razor blade / its not perfect but works on a driver type car / i used it in the same situation on the rear side window exterior trim on my 63 ply station wagon /you can get it at places like home depot or lowes for 10$

Gerry

I picked up a very beautiful set of interior door panels today for my
64 plymouth wagon. they came from a 4 door sedan car a guy was parting
out, so since they were four door he couldnt get much out of them. they
are absolutely gorgeous and even the correct color for my car .
  ***BUT***
the faux-chrome strips on them need help. these strips appear to be
a type of foil lamminated over a grey plastic strip, to create a sort
of cheezy chrome look. the foil is coming loose in a few places or
  missing.
ANybody have any ideas on where/who might carry something like this
foil that i could carefully glue on or some other way to restore the
 strips and emblems.
   sheetmetal.
