Re: 64' Dodge 440 max wedge

Steve,

If you mean the starting numbers for the VIN it should start:
6242######
6 = dodge Fleet V8
2 = 440
4 = 1964
2 = Hamtrack, MI plant (all maxie dodges are supposedly only built at Hamtrack)

the last 6 digits are the sequence number.

Yes, As in Post, I mean Sedan.

The car's been updated quite a bit through the years.
I have an IBM Card, But no fender tag or broadcast
sheet, I have been told by prior owners that it was a
Max Wedge. I am looking for production numbers.

It's a real 440 Post car, I can show you where the
trim holes have been filled and I can show you past
pictures.

Donnie, All I can say is WOW! That story got twisted
pretty far! The car is NOT a Lightweight. In the
mid-70's it was run with Aluminum parts, But wasn't a
lightweight car. It still has the original fenders.
McCandless didn't have the car, Ron Mancini did in the
late 60's. He sold the car to Ken Lau in late 69 who
raced it as the Lau Raider until about 75-76. The car
was sold new at Brenninger Motors in Lansdale, PA.
