Re: 7 1/4 rear ends

I have a complete C-Body 8.75 w/ 2.76 open that I'd like to sell. I
would probably have to be narrowed, but you would still probably come
out ahead overall. Actually a narrowed C-body axle in an A-Body is a
great way to go. HUGE dia axles that you'll never break.

My '64 Valiant has its stock rear end. I'd like to get an 8 3/4" on it some

rebuilding the 7 1/4" for the time being.

Is it hard to find parts, AND can this rear be beefed-up a bit? Some
articles I've read make it sound like the 7 1/4" is a ticking time bomb, and
I want my car to be as reliable as possible, and I want to stand on the gas
from time to time, as well.

A larger bolt pattern (4.5 instead of 4.0) would be nice, but not worth a
huge investment for now.

thanks!
