Do you, or did you, have windshield washer nozzles?  If the mount  screw for 
the nozzle is not installed, there is a hole from the topside of the  cowl 
into the space behind the dash.  And it can easily be mistaken  for a bad 
windshield, or wiper pivot seal.  Water collects behind the  seal at the back of the 
hood, and then eventually runs down into the interior  through that hole.  
 
Just something else to check.......
