65 trannies



can somebody explain to me the real differences between a 64 pushbutton
tranny and a 65  tranny.
   I know that 64 was the last year for the pushbuttons and that 65 was
   sort of a  Make-shift year,  a meeting of two eras in a sense.
    I also know that the tail ends of 64 and 65  look different, looks
    like 65 used a different ball joint setup.
