Slant 6 to V-8 conversion questions

I have two questions. First, on the older push-button 727 trans, can you  use 
an aftermarket floor shifter. like a B&M, or do you have to find an  original 
push-button mechanism? Also, do you have to change the K-member to put  in a 
V-8, or do they make adapter mounts to use the Slant6 K-member with a V-8.  
I'd like to know before I spend money on a V-8, and then find out I have to  
change the K-member. Thanks for any info.
