Replacing the upper and lower control arm bushings,  with rubber--not  
urethane,  an alignment, and a fair set of gas shocks and radials will  improve the 
ride a great deal.  just keep in mind these aren't Impalas and  weren't really 
tuned for radials when new.  to get a really smooth circa  1964 ride you need 
some skinny bias ply tires...
