I would argue that the '62 Dodge or Plymouth with the "Maximum-Performance" engines was a muscle car waaaaaaay before the over-hyped 64 GTO.

Have you guys heard the commericial the new owners of Chrysler are
airing on the radio?  Man, these guys are going to take that company
places!  They recite a bunch of automotive "firsts" that Chrysler
started, and my favorite two lines (paraphrasing):

1.  "Our cars were so effective that NASCAR banned them,"

2.  "We invented the musclecar"

Go, Baby!!!

BTW, that's not global warming all you guys have been feeling.  It's the
air temperature rising from all the GM fanatics' blood boiling when they
hear that!
