RE: trailored cars.

> From: big-d@xxxxxxxxxxxx> Subject: trailored cars> > > > Wright or wrong here is my position on trailered cars.> My car has a 426 Max Wedge. I was most fortunate to find it in fact it is only one of three I have ever had an oppourtunity to buy. I dont expect to ever have a chance at another one. As the old sayng goes , "talk is cheap It takes money to buy wiskey "

I agree with you Don. Back in the 80's, I trailered my cars to many events, and took a fair share of grief about it too. However; I cant remember how many times I took my rather expensive pickup, and equally expensive trailer out to pickup some poor souls pride and joy that died on the highway to the meet. One in particular I remember was down by the Quad Cities, where I drove my pickup and trailer, on my gas, 50 miles one way to pickup a dead 71 Hemi RoadRunner . Back then I was glad to do it, even tho I missed alot of the "happenings" during the day. The only down side to that deal was the fact that I never got so much as a thankyou for that particular rescue. That's OK, I was glad to help. But, thats exactly why I trailored most of the time. My mechanical skills were not that wonderful, and luck is a lady........so since I had the trailer for my drag car anyway, why not use it ? The bad part is, that you have twice the wheels and tires on the ground, more wheel bearings, brakes, ect. Thats bit me too. Besides, the fact that the car is at the meet, is way more important than how it got there !! Just my .02 worth.
