Re: Chrysler Classic at Norwalk

There as a spectator. (My cars are in process or wounded.) The turnout was terrific. Tons of 62-65 racer cars and a very healthy showing of them on the Mopar Meadows show field. They called Norwalk the Mopar World Finals and while one my think that was a bit pretentious, I think its certainly is a very serious contender for the title. I talked to Lisa Leathery the show field organizer and she seemed well pleased. The Classic events had a good year in spite of the flood out in Chicago. For next year, they are planning to create a class for lightly modified cars versus the heavily modified cars - looking for input on criteria and class name. Also, there is talk of a restoration shop Challenge so us garage builders are not up against the bottomless wallet restoration shops. All preliminary thoughts and may lead to nothing but they are thinking to make it better.

   '65 Satellite Convert. (next year)

I got back last night after spending the weekend at the Chrysler Classic in Norwalk, Ohio and all I can say is WOW! I've never seen so many 62-65 Mopars in one place. There had to be way over 100 B bodies alone especially 63's to 65's. The show was great and so was the racing. The Max Wedge class was huge. Were there any other members there?
