Re: Paul vs Rich -the outcome

Earl,
I was hoping your street tires would be the ubiquitous BF Goodrich street tires; smokey! Those aren't sabres rattling, just your forged aluminum race pistons; kind of like teeth chattering before a brawl!

Gary,

Of course you are entitled to your opinion, with out it we would
not have a race brewing. There are lots of different kinds of street
tires. Perhaps you should investigate some of MT offerings in the
street slick arena. The car also has a 4:30 Mark Williams rear with
a spool and MW axles with Cal Tracks. So your not going to see
60' times like Rich and Paul.

Lets stop rattling the sabers and just get it on baby.....<;-) Heck, I
have a Chevy motor that will out run that Plymouth at 1/2 throttle,
and you want me to bring the 500 inch motor? Ok, have it your way.
I will even put a Burger King sticker on the trunk so you can enjoy
your meal.

Earl

Earl,
Right on.
Yes, bring the 500inch stroker and use street tires and we'll run or bring
the well-tuned '69 440 and you will lose.
Hey, Vegas is a gambling town, right?

Gary,

Bring it on. But to be fair, perhaps I should bring a 500 inch 440.
You know, stroker against a stroker. But if you feeling weak, I could
just put a well tuned stock 69 440 in the ol girl and meet you in
Vegas.

Earl

Rich,
Congrats on the great run against the 440!
You had over 100 cubes less, less HP/Torque, less profitable gearing
and you did splendidly. When you closely examine the 60ft. time and
the time at the end of the 1/8th, you were only .16 behind in time.
Speaks highly of the Poly's head design to make a fun ride.
Wonder what a 360 or 402 stroker Poly would do against a 440?
HEY EARL....!!!

Rich Kinsley '64 Polara 4 dr 318poly w/goodies

Today was our big showdown at the "Geezer Drags". Paul and I got
lined up and the results are as follows:

 Paul R/T .199 Rich R/T .125
      60' 2.331 60' 2.374
      330 6.605 330 6.685
      1/8 10.126 1/8 10.286
      mph 69.88 mph 68.15

Paul is the winner with his 440 powered '63 Ply 2 dr w/4:30 gears
Rich loses with his 318poly powered '64 Dodge 4 dr w/3:91 gears

It was a great day and we all had a ball. Of course I want to go
faster but I've improved by a whole bunch. My best today was 10.165 @
68.57.
Siunce my previous best was 11.68 I think I gotta be thinking I'm on
the right track.

Steve Hurst, from the list, showed up today too. One of Dodger's
friends was there running a sharp/fast '62 Dart too. There were about
a half dozen good running 62/65's. A real bad '65 Dodge Hemi in the 5's.

Remember, if it weren't for the losers there'd be no winners.
Somebody has to sacrifice.
