Re: Chrysler Classic Events

I didn't take an actual count Don but it seemed to me that there was almost as many 62-65 B bodies at Pittsburg as I've seen at Norwalk. They definitely outnumbered any other year body style and the race attendance was good. The show field and swap meet was much smaller than Norwalk. The iffy weather may have played a part in that. We had a couple of downpours late Friday afternoon and they had to cancel the Friday night gambler's race. Saturday was beautiful but some violent thunder and lighting started up late Saturday night and they had to shut down things early after the slant six finals. Mother Nature put on quite a show. Sunday was beautiful again and I'm sure they were able to get everything in although we left around 2:30. I actually started going to Norwalk years ago with the A-100 guys before I had the Fury or the Belvedere. When I saw they were running at Pittsburg too this year we decided to give that a try since it's about the same distance as Norwalk for me. You really can't beat these Chrysler Classic events. 20 bucks for a pass and weekend camping right on the track for nothing. Hope to see some of you at Norwalk in September.

Bill, I remember your friend's orange Dart. Nice car.

Dan

I think the biggest showing of 62-64 "Max Wedge" cars will be at Norwalk if my memory and history are correct.

How was the PA show? Show field, swap and race attendance?

I just got back last night from the Chrysler Classic Event at Pittsburg Raceway. And just like Norwalk I've never seen so many 62-65 Mopars in one place. I think just about every year make and model of a 62-65 B body was there. I'm wondering if any other members from this group were there. If anybody wants to see 62-65 Mopars then I suggest that you make one of these Chrysler Classic Events. It's Max Wedge heaven. I'll be at Norwalk again in September and I'd like meet up with any of you that'll be there. I'll be at Carlisle too and hope to meet some of you at noon on Saturday.
