Rich, according to the DOE a gallon of gasoline weighs between 5.8 & 6.5 
lbs.  I'm surprised by the variance.  I know when I used to work on the 
ramp at the airport the jet fuel we pumped, which is just highly refined 
kerosene, weighed 6.8 lbs/gal.
