band adj

So how did i get to doing it that way. I had a trans built for my Hemi forst by a local shop. It lasted till the first trottle squeeze. They tried again a couple of times. Then i met a guy named Wayne Town. Wayne is a mech and drag racer and hot rod builder. He was at the time working in a Chrysler dealer doingtrans. He told me forget thatFAm adjustment . do it this way and it will never be too tight or too loose no matter what ratio arm you have on the band. I had another friend from years ago who was the tranny guy in Kingston Mopar dealer I asked him and he aid hedes itthat way too. I didit then on my own as i started doing my own trans (cause they would last.) I used the tricks these two fellow wrenches taught me and never lost a band since.Sometimes guys at the ground level figure things out that work. Since i know and you know if it came back they re do for nothing (Flatrate mechanics dont get paid for their atendance only by the job and messups are fixed for free so you try real hard not to have any. )i know as a professional wrench that you dont ever want that to happen and i knew both these guys to be successful at what they did so i tried it.turns out they were right therwise I would have found that out by know some 33 years after Wayne showed me.
