crank dampener install



I always install the crank dampener with a hammer and a block of wood, 
until it is on enough that the threads on the crank bolt can reach, then 
finish it with the bolt.  My friend says I am damaging the crankshaft 
main thrust bearing by doing it this way.  Is that true?
